1. We must pay Zakat-ul-Fitr before the Eid prayer so the needy can enjoy their day.
Somali Meaning: Waa inaan bixinaa Sekatul-fidriga ka hor salaadda Ciidda si ay danyartu u ugu raaxaystaan maalintooda.
Vocabulary:
- “Pay“: Bixin (Giving money or food).
- “The needy“: Danyarta / Dadka baahan (Those who lack basic necessities).
2. Zakat-ul-Fitr is an obligatory charity that purifies our fast from any mistakes.
Somali Meaning: Sekatul-fidrigu waa sadaqo waajib ah oo ka sifeysa soonkeena khaladaadkii naga dhacay.
Vocabulary:
- “Obligatory charity“: Sadaqo waajib ah (Something you must give).
- “Purifies“: Sifeysa / Daahirisa (To make something clean or pure).
3. The amount is usually calculated per person for every member of the household.
Somali Meaning: Cadadka (Sekada) waxaa inta badan loo xisaabiyaa qof kasta oo ka mid ah xubnaha qoyska.
