1. I am trying to keep my cool even when I feel tired or frustrated.
Somali Meaning: Waxaan isku dayayaa inaan deganaantayda dhowro xataa marka aan dareemo daal ama xanaaq.
Vocabulary:
- “Keep my cool“: Inaad is dejiso/deganaanta dhowrto (Staying calm in a difficult situation).
- “Frustrated“: Xanaaq ama caraysan (Feeling annoyed because you cannot change something).
2. I need to be more patient with my children when they are being loud.
Somali Meaning: Waxaan u baahanahay inaan u dulqaato carruurtayda marka ay sawaxan (buuq) samaynayaan.
Vocabulary:
- “Patient with“: U dulqaadasho (Being calm and kind even when someone is difficult).
- “Being loud“: Sawaxan ama buuq samaynaya (Making a lot of noise).
3. When someone bothers me, I just take a deep breath and remind myself that I am fasting.
Somali Meaning: Marka uu qof i dhibo, kaliya nefas weyn ayaan qaataa, waxaana is xusuusiyaa inaan soomanahay.
Vocabulary:
- “Bothers me“: I dhibo / iga qaso (When someone annoys you).
- “Take a deep breath“: neefsi dheer (A way to relax and stay calm).
